Audacious Automotive develops Audi Quattro restomod with RS4 V8
Audacious Automotive prepares Audi Quattro restomod with V8 and manual gearbox
Britain’s Audacious Automotive is developing the Audacious IV restomod, combining Audi Ur-Quattro looks with the underpinnings of a later RS4 while retaining a manual gearbox, Motor1 reports.
The project is based on the B7-generation Audi RS4. The Audacious IV inherits its chassis geometry, suspension, brakes and electronics. The company is upgrading the six-speed gearbox and all-wheel-drive system to handle the increased power.
The company says the RS4’s 4.2-litre V8 will be available in two states of tune. The standard engine produces 592 hp, while the version fitted with a TSS supercharger delivers 740 hp. Audacious Automotive promises extensive engine modifications but has not detailed the specific changes.
The company is also developing a high-revving V8 with a planned rev limit of 10,000 rpm. Development has focused on throttle response and high-rpm performance. This engine is planned to be offered with and without a supercharger, giving buyers four powertrain options.
Audacious Automotive says the car will accelerate from a standstill to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. Top speed will reach 200 mph, according to the company.
The cabin is being given a retro design while retaining recognisable RS4 features, including the steering wheel and instrument dials. Buyers will be able to specify a bespoke interior.
Audacious Automotive plans to build 50 examples of the IV. Of these, 40 will have an all-carbon-fibre body, while the company intends to build the remaining 10 with metal bodywork.
The customer must supply both donor cars, an Audi RS4 and an Audi Ur-Quattro. The company estimates that around three years will pass between the start of the build and delivery of the finished restomod to the buyer.
