BMW has moved 1 million cars without drivers at its factories

BMW said it has moved 1 million cars without drivers at its production facilities. The company says automated driving helps improve production processes and make logistics within its factories more efficient.

The company is moving beyond the pilot phase to make the technology a production standard. Its use is expanding across more plants, models and production processes.

The MINI plant in Oxford is becoming the fourth site to introduce the technology. In 2027, BMW plans to continue the rollout at its Spartanburg plant.
