BYD unveils second-generation Seal 07 in China
BYD unveiled the second-generation Seal 07 in China on November 5, 2026, CnEVPost reports. The company updated both the electric and plug-in hybrid versions of the sedan, lowering their starting prices compared with their predecessors.
Prices for the five BYD Seal 07 trims in China
BYD has introduced five Seal 07 trim levels for the Chinese market. The DM-i plug-in hybrids cost 139,900 yuan ($20,830) and 149,900 yuan. Both versions feature a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine.
The electric Seal 07 is available in three trims priced at 149,900, 159,900 and 172,900 yuan. All three share the same powertrain specifications and range.
Customers who meet the trade-in requirements receive a 4,000-yuan discount on each trim. Excluding this discount, the electric version's starting price is 20,000 yuan lower than its predecessor's, while the hybrid's is down by 9,900 yuan.
BYD Seal 07 batteries, range and acceleration
All electric Seal 07 versions feature a second-generation 76.744 kWh Blade Battery with ultra-fast charging support. Claimed range reaches 775 km on the CLTC cycle, up 70 km from the 705 km offered by the model launched in March. Acceleration from a standstill to 100 km/h takes 5.5 seconds, a second less than the March version. Top speed reaches 240 km/h.
All new DM-i versions feature a 38 kWh battery. Claimed electric-only range reaches 330 km (205 miles) on the CLTC cycle, 100 km more than the previous maximum of 230 km. The hybrid accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds.
Driver assistance in entry-level and higher-spec Seal 07 trims
The entry-level electric Seal 07 and DM-i hybrid trims come with conventional cruise control. God's Eye C is unavailable on these trims, and God's Eye B cannot be added as a paid option either.
The two higher-spec electric trims and the higher-spec DM-i come with God's Eye C as standard. It supports Highway Navigation on Autopilot (HNOA) on highways and urban expressways. These trims can be upgraded at extra cost to God's Eye B with LiDAR, which adds City Navigation on Autopilot (CNOA) on city streets.
On the outgoing DM-i generation, lower-spec trims came with God's Eye C as standard. The flagship hybrid included God's Eye B with LiDAR at no extra cost.
