Tesla’s China sales fell 11.9% in the first nine months of 2026 as exports doubled

Tesla sold 381,088 vehicles in China from January through September 2026, down 11.9% from a year earlier, according to the China Passenger Car Association. Over the same period, its Shanghai factory shipped 361,972 vehicles overseas, more than doubling exports. The Shanghai plant’s overseas shipments nearly matched the brand’s sales to customers in China.
