Ferrari 12Cilindri Manuale’s H-pattern shifter does not mean a switch to a manual gearbox

Н-образный рычаг Феррари 12 Чилиндри Мануале не означает перехода на механику

The Ferrari 12Cilindri Manuale combines a 12-cylinder engine with an H-pattern gear lever. Yet the car retains the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission Ferrari developed with Magna.

The traditional shift pattern does not mean the manufacturer has replaced the automatic transmission with a manual gearbox. On the outside, Group A-style five-spoke wheels distinguish the Manuale from the standard version.

The road test’s author notes the metallic sound heard in the cabin with every gear change as steel meets aluminium. He links this approach to driving enjoyment and interprets Ferrari’s decision as a willingness to sacrifice speed for the driver’s experience.
